Vivo is gearing up for the launch of the X90 series globally. The company launched the X90 series late last year in China. The lineup in China includes three phones, namely the X90, X90 Pro and X90 Pro+. Vivo is rumoured to skip the global launch of the X90 Pro+ 5G. The company will only unveil the X90 Pro and the X90 5G as its premium smartphones for the global market. The phones will launch first in Malaysia, followed by other global markets. But what about India? MySmartPrice has some exclusive details about the Vivo X90 series India launch timeline.

As per MSP sources, the Vivo X90 series will launch in the second quarter of 2023. Our sources could not confirm how many phones the India X90 series lineup will include at launch. However, we can expect the X90 and X90 Pro to debut in India as their respective predecessors are already available in the country.

We currently cannot confirm the launch month either. However, our sources are confident that the phones will launch in Q2 2023. The X80 series debuted in India in May 2022. Therefore, it would not be a surprise if the X90 series debuts around the same time.

Regarding the specifications, both phones are likely to feature the same hardware found in the global and Chinese models.

The X90 Pro sits at the top of the lineup for the global market. It borrows the 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 primary camera sensor from the China-exclusive X90 Pro+ 5G. The X90 Pro 5G’s triple-camera setup also includes a 50MP Sony IMX758 portrait sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide camera sensor. For selfies, the phone has a 32MP front camera.

The X90 Pro also has a 4870mAh battery. It supports 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The rest of the hardware is shared with the X90 5G.

Both phones have a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. The screen is curved and has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The two Vivo flagship smartphones also feature support for a 120Hz refresh rate and come with 1300 nits of peak brightness.

The devices draw power from a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC. They are expected to launch globally with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phones also come with the Vivo V2 chip, which is developed to improve lowlight photo and video recording capabilities and to enhance the gaming experience.

The X90 5G has a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP portrait sensor. It has a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone also packs a 4,810mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging out of the box. Lastly, both phones will run Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13 out of the box.

The X90 5G is said to launch globally with two colour options — Breeze Blue and Asteroid Black. It will have a launch price of RM 3,699 (roughly Rs 71,200). The X90 Pro 5G will have a launch price of RM 5,299 (roughly Rs 1,02,000) for the single 12GB + 256GB storage option. The X90 Pro is said to launch in a single Legend Black colour.
