Samsung Unveils 2025 “Bespoke AI One Body” Top-Down Washer-Dryer Combo

Samsung Electronics has introduced its 2025 model of the Bespoke AI One Body, a combined washing machine and dryer unit that integrates both functions in a single, space-efficient form factor. The washing side handles up to 25 kg and the dryer side up to 22 kg, with the top dryer inlet placed approximately 45 mm lower than what a side-by-side setup would require.

What sets this model apart is its heavy emphasis on AI and connectivity features. It is equipped with a 7-type AI home touch screen panel that lets users monitor and control functions in one place. There is also a "3D Map View" function that visualises the layout of connected SmartThings devices and shows their real-time status. Voice control via Samsung's Bixby is supported, enabling natural language instructions, function continuation and contextual command interpretation.

On the washing side, Samsung introduces AI Custom Laundry+, which classifies garments into up to five fabric types (delicate, towels, general, denim, outdoor) and adjusts detergent, time, and washing intensity accordingly. The dryer side brings AI Custom Dry+, which tailors drying cycles across four types of fabric. Added features include an upgraded vibration noise reduction system that adapts to the floor environment, a two-stage damper to control shaking, and noise levels during dehydration rated at about 51.7 dB(A).

Convenience enhancements have also been included. The unit offers auto detergent input (i.e. the system estimates and injects the needed amount), an auto-open door feature post cycle, and Direct Power Auto Clean for the dryer's heat exchanger, which uses strong water pressure to clean residual dust without manual intervention.

In terms of energy performance, Samsung claims the Bespoke AI One Body uses about 45 percent less power per kilogram of laundry compared to baseline drum washing machines defined under Korean Energy Agency standards.

Design, AI and Trends To Watch Out For

For buyers, the Bespoke AI One Body illustrates where premium home appliances are headed: towards compact, space-saving designs that combine washing and drying in a single vertical unit, making them more practical for urban households where space is limited. However, in India, there is still not much uptake for vertical units. In fact the market is just about warming to having washer dryer combos and Samsung is looking at expanding the category.

Another intersting startegy being adopted by Samsung is that it is betting on AI as its key differentiator. The company is using algorithms to classify fabrics, fine-tune wash and dry cycles, adjust vibration based on floor conditions, and even automate maintenance tasks like detergent input and heat-exchanger cleaning. These features, if they perform consistently outside controlled conditions, could meaningfully reduce the everyday hassle of laundry. The promise of 45 percent lower energy use per kilogram also makes the product appealing at a time when efficiency is top of mind, though real-world validation will be crucial. What will ultimately decide its success is whether consumers trust the longevity of these complex systems, feel comfortable with after-sales service support, and see enough reliability to justify investing in an all-in-one appliance that aims to be both a convenience upgrade and a statement piece in the premium laundry market.
