The noted WhatsApp beta update tracking website has spotted a new WhatsApp user interface in the latest WhatsApp for Android beta update. According to the report, the main chat window will receive a major overhaul in terms of aesthetics and will also make it easier for users to look up specific chats using filters. The new user interface and enhancements have been spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.18.18 update. Let’s take a look at these changes in detail.

As you can see in the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo (image above), will receive a significant overhaul in a future update. The user interface remains largely unchanged. But if you look closer, the top status bar is now white instead of green. Moreover, the font used for the name of the app on top has also been changed to green. While the new WhatsApp UI looks seamless in light mode as depicted in the screenshot, it remains to be seen how the UI would look in dark mode. An educated guess will be a dark top bar with green font in the dark mode.

Apart from the overhauled top bar, WhatsApp has also enhanced the chat sorting interface. The image shows various tabs for All, Unread, Personal, and Business. According to WABetaInfo, the sorting feature has been spotted in previous beta updates as well. It gives WhatsApp users more control over their chats. WhatsApp has also changed the buttons to toggle through these chat filters and bottom tab more rounded.

Additionally, the publication reveals that the new user interface with a revamped top bar and chat filters is also under development on WhatsApp Beta for iOS. It was spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.17.1.77 update on the TestFlight app. We can expect the Meta-owned chat platform to roll out the new user interface on both platforms at the same time for uniformity. Lastly, the publication reports that the new WhatsApp user interface is still under development and should roll out to stable users soon.

More recently, WhatsApp added support to share videos in HD quality with contacts soon after adding the ability to share high-resolution photos in chats. It means the shared media will no longer be marred by the compression used by the platform. The platform also lets users create groups without names with up to 6 members.
