Xiaomi 12 series launch date has been announced. The company will launch its new flagship smartphone in China on December 28. The company is expected to launch at least three devices, which are the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and the Xiaomi 12X. These devices are likely to make their way to India and other markets soon after the China launch event. Ahead of the launch, the company has started dropping teasers of its new flagship smartphone. The latest teaser reveals the front of two devices. Let’s take a look at the Xiaomi 12 series first look, specs and other details known so far.

Xiaomi 12 series first look

Xiaomi has dropped a new teaser poster which reveals the front of its upcoming flagship series. The two devices teased in the poster are likely the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. Xiaomi did not explicitly mention the names of the devices in the poster. However, recent reports suggest that the Xiaomi 12 (and the Xiaomi 12X) will have a compact display. The vanilla model will have a 6.2-inch display, whereas the 12 Pro is said to sport a 6.67-inch screen. There is also an Ultra model in the works, which is likely to sport a 6.8-inch display. This particular model is likely to launch in March 2022.

The teaser poster reveals that the display is surrounded by narrow bezels and is slightly curved along the edges. There is a hole-punch camera cutout at the top centre of the display. The chin bezel on both devices is slightly thicker than the other bezels.

The poster also confirms that the power and volume keys are located on the right edge of the device. Considering these are high-end smartphones with an AMOLED display, we can expect the phones to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Xiaomi 12 series is rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The vanilla model is likely to feature 67W fast charging, whereas the 12 Pro could come with 120W fast charging support. Both devices are likely to feature a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50MP primary camera sensor. More details should surface online as we get closer to the launch.
