Now, let’s address the elephant in the room. It all started when Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO started promoting the iQOO 3 5G to be India’s first 5G smartphone. Soon after that, Realme made the announcement that it would indeed take the lead with the Realme X50 Pro 5G and make it the country’s first smartphone to take the 5G throne. As if that weren’t enough, Xiaomi announced that it would unveil the Mi Mix Alpha smartphone and the title came to Xiaomi this way.
Coming to the specifications of the Mi Mix Alpha smartphone, the device features a screen-to-body ratio of over 180 percent. Yes, it is a one-of-its-kind smartphone available. Xiaomi has trimmed down the bezels surrounding the display of the Mi Mix Alpha to around 2 mm. For optics, the Mi Mix Alpha utilizes a whopping 108MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX image sensor. Alongside the 108MP primary camera, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha features a 20MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto unit. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha lacks a front-facing camera as it does not need one – you can simply flip the device over to take a selfie from the rear camera setup. Speaking of, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha can record 4K videos at 60 frames per second.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, which is paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. Though 512GB of storage would suffice most needs, note that there is no scope for further expansion as the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha lacks a dedicated microSD card slot. There is no 3.55mm headphone jack either. Coming to the battery, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha sports a 4,050mAh battery, which can be charged by up to 40W fast charging speeds.
Coming to the price of the device, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha is priced at a whopping figure of CNY 19,999, which roughly translates to somewhere around Rs 200,000. Clearly, the Mi Mix Alpha is not a smartphone for everyone. To learn more about the device, you can head to our previous coverage for the same.
