Vivo X300 Ultra Quietly Shows Up at IPL 2026, Spotted With Shreyas Iyer

The IPL season is in full swing, and this time it also brought a little surprise for tech enthusiasts. Vivo’s upcoming flagship, the Vivo X300 Ultra, may have made an early public appearance during IPL 2026. A photo shared by photojournalist Ravi Choudhary on Instagram shows Shreyas Iyer using a smartphone on the sidelines of the match. You must be thinking, “What’s the big deal about that?” But here, it’s the camera setup that stands out.

The device in the image appears to feature a large circular camera module with an attached external telephoto lens, like the one we saw with the Vivo X300 Pro. The accessory closely resembles Vivo’s previously launched long-range teleconverter lenses, suggesting that the company may be doubling down on modular photography with its next Ultra device.

If accurate, the sighting offers us an early look at how Vivo is positioning the X300 Ultra, not just as a camera-heavy phone but as a system that extends beyond built-in hardware.

India Launch Timeline

The timing of this sighting is interesting. Recent reports suggest that the Vivo X300 Ultra could launch in India on May 7, with availability expected to follow shortly after.

While Vivo has not confirmed these details, the appearance of the device during a high-visibility event like the IPL points to a possible early-stage marketing push ahead of launch.

Vivo X300 Ultra Specifications (China Variant)

The Vivo X300 Ultra has already been launched in China, where it is positioned as a top-tier flagship with a strong focus on camera. It features a 200-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, supported by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The device also includes a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

Just like the previously launched Vivo X300 Pro, it also supports attachable teleconverter lenses, including a larger 400mm option and a more compact variant, designed to extend zoom capabilities beyond the standard smartphone limits.

Beyond imaging, the Chinese variant of the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. On the front, it features a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Battery capacity stands at 7000mAh, with support for 100W wired and 40W wireless charging.

While details of the India variant remain unconfirmed, the IPL sighting suggests Vivo may be preparing to launch its latest camera-focused flagship in the coming weeks.
