Sony BRAVIA 3 II Launched in India With XR Processor, 4K 120Hz Gaming, and Dolby Vision

Sony has launched the new Sony BRAVIA 3 II in India, expanding its BRAVIA television lineup with a stronger focus on AI-powered picture processing, gaming, and premium home entertainment features. The new series introduces Sony's XR Processor to the BRAVIA 3 range for the first time, a move that reflects how features once reserved for flagship televisions are steadily moving into more accessible price brackets.

The company says the BRAVIA 3 II lineup will initially launch in 55-inch and 65-inch screen sizes, with larger variants, including a 100-inch model, arriving later this year. Sony is clearly leaning into the growing consumer preference for bigger screens in India, especially as premium streaming, sports, and console gaming continue to drive upgrades beyond traditional 43-inch and 55-inch televisions.

XR Processor, Dolby Vision, and 120Hz Gaming Take Center Stage

The biggest highlight of the BRAVIA 3 II is Sony's XR Processor, which combines AI and cognitive intelligence to analyse scenes similarly to how humans perceive visuals and sound. The TV also gets XR Triluminos Pro for wider colour reproduction, XR Clear Image for noise reduction, and Motionflow XR for smoother fast-moving scenes.

Sony is also positioning the TV heavily around cinematic viewing and gaming. The BRAVIA 3 II supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and 4K 120Hz output through HDMI 2.1. Gaming-focused features include Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Dolby Vision Gaming, and a dedicated Game Menu for quick settings access.

The addition of four HDMI 2.1 ports capable of handling 4K 120fps gaming is particularly notable because many televisions in this segment still limit full-bandwidth HDMI support to one or two ports. Sony is also continuing its push toward tighter PlayStation ecosystem integration with PS Remote Play and PlayStation 5-specific optimisations.

Google TV, Gemini Support, and Sony Pictures Core Included

The BRAVIA 3 II runs on Google TV and supports features such as hands-free voice search, Google Assistant, Apple AirPlay 2, Apple HomeKit, Google Cast, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Sony also confirmed that the 2026 BRAVIA lineup will receive Google Gemini support through a future OTA update, bringing AI-powered voice interactions and smarter content discovery to the televisions.

Additionally, buyers get access to Sony Pictures Core, the company's own streaming platform that includes IMAX Enhanced titles and Pure Stream support with streaming speeds of up to 80 Mbps. Sony says users will receive five movie credits valid for 12 months.

Bigger Screens and Premium Features Are Becoming the New Battleground

The launch also reflects a broader shift happening in India's television market. Brands are increasingly pushing larger screen sizes, higher refresh rates, and gaming-focused features beyond ultra-premium segments as consumers spend more time on streaming platforms and console gaming. Features such as Dolby Vision, VRR, and 120Hz panels, once limited to flagship OLED televisions, are now becoming important differentiators even in upper mid-range LCD models.

Sony's strategy here also appears to mirror the wider premiumisation trend across consumer electronics, where buyers upgrading televisions are increasingly prioritising long-term viewing experience, gaming readiness, and ecosystem integration over simply picking the cheapest large-screen option.
