Design and Specifications
The HTC One Max is the first phablet device from the Taiwanese manufacturer. The device is going to be one of the most powerful smartphones announced in 2013. The phone will resemble to the HTC One but with a removable battery and a lot more power under the hood. The phone features a 5.9-inch Full HD touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device should come with Android v4.3 (Jelly Bean). The device will be powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 processor, which is surprisingly a bit slower than the processor used in the HTC One. The device has 2 GB of RAM that makes it very fast for multi-tasking operations.
Camera and Multimedia
The HTC One Max comes with a 4 MP Ultrapixel camera and is one of the best camera phones in the world, thanks to amazing low-light images that can be captured with its 2.0 Micro Meter pixels and F/2.0 Aperture value. The phone will have features like Zoe mode, face detection, simultaneous image and video recording and many more. The device also has a front facing shooter that is of 2.1 MP, which can also record HD videos and is ideal for video calling.
HTC's BoomSound technology powered by Beats Audio is a great addition. The device supports video and audio formats like DivX, XviD, MP4, H.263, H.264, WMV, MP3, eAAC+, WMA, WAV, and FLAC.
Connectivity and Features
The connectivity features of HTC One Max are similar to those of the HTC One. The phone has 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, NFC and 4G LTE in markets where such networks exist. Apart from all the sensors such as accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor and magnetometer, it also features a finger-print sensor at the back of the device.
HTC's Sense v5.5 User Interface has a lot of new features that are aimed at making it easier for users to connect and share using their social networks. This is done through BlinkFeed, a utility that acts as a social news aggregator in which a user's social networking information is shown along with news content from over 1200 sources in a single central location.
Battery and Storage
Unlike HTC One, The HTC One Max will have a removable 3300 mAh Li-Ion battery under the hood. The device will come with 16GB or 32 GB of internal storage and it would also sport a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
