The Galaxy F34 5G is the latest budget offering from Samsung in India. At Rs 18,999, the device features a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP camera with OIS support, a 6,000mAh battery, 11 5G bands and much more.

Going by its on-paper specs sheet, the device looks like a complete package for budget consumers. But is it an ideal pick for under Rs 20,000? We break it down for you. In this article, we tell you the five things we like about the Samsung Galaxy F34 5G and the one thing we don’t particularly like about the phone.

Things We Like About Samsung Galaxy F34

Smooth 120Hz AMOLED Display

The Samsung Galaxy F34 5G has all the things that you will need from a budget device. It has a 6.46-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. To provide a smoother experience, it supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung claims that the phone’s display can reach up to 1000 nits using the Vision Booster.

To protect the display from scratches, the device comes pre-applied with a Gorilla Glass 5 protector. In low-light conditions, you can turn on Eye-care to comfortably watch the content without giving your eyes any stress.

Multiple Camera Features

The Samsung Galaxy F34 5G brings multiple camera features, that are available on the company’s flagship smartphones, to budget. It packs a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support, a feature that multiple devices lack even in higher segments. It supports shooting videos in 4K resolution along with various modes available such as Fun Filters, Nightography, and Single Take.

For selfies and video calls, it flaunts a 16MP front sensor.

Massive 6,000mAh Battery

The Samsung Galaxy F34 5G doesn’t fall behind in terms of battery capacity. The phone packs a large 6,000mAh battery unit which we do not get to see in various flagship or premium devices.

Samsung claims that the Galaxy F34 5G can last up to two days while using it. This can be a good choice for those users who are looking for a phone under Rs 20,000 that can last longer on daily usage.

Promised Updates

Generally, consumers who buy the phone in the under Rs 20,000 segment tend to keep their phone for a longer time. To use a phone for a longer period, it’s important to keep up with the latest Android version. Samsung is one of the reliable brands when it comes to providing software updates and the Galaxy F34 5G is no special.

The Samsung Galaxy F34 5G will receive four years of Android updates and five years of security patches. And the best part? It boots the latest Android 13-based OneUI 5.1 out of the box.

11 5G Bands

The demand for 5G devices in the budget section has increased massively in the last year, all thanks to the 5G launch. The Samsung Galaxy F34 not only supports 5G but also supports 11 different bands. Some of them are N1(2100), N3(1800), N5(850), N7(2600), N8(900), N28(700).

Most of them are supported in India and will help in providing better 5G services.

Things We Don’t Like About Samsung Galaxy F34

Less Capable SoC Compared to its Competition

While the Samsung Galaxy F34 5G ticks most of the boxes right, it falls into one segment and that’s performance. It is powered by an Exynos 1280 processor under the hood coupled with up to 8GB of RAM. Comparing the processor to other devices in a similar segment like MediaTek Dimensity 930 in Moto G73 or the Snapdragon 778G in the POCO X5 Pro, the Exynos 1280 lags behind. We feel that a better SoC choice would have made it an excellent package.
