New Redmi 5G Smartphone Gets TENAA Certification; MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC, 6.57-inch OLED Display and More Tipped

Xiaomi has recently been on a launch spree. The brand has launched the POCO F2 Pro, Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition, Redmi Note 9 series, and the Mi 10 series smartphones in the last few weeks. But now it turns out that there is still one more Xiaomi smartphone waiting to be launched.

Redmi M2004J7AC certified through TENAA

Today, a new Xiaomi smartphone, codenamed M2004J7AC, has been certified through TENAA. The listing of the smartphone on the certification platform was first spotted by a Weibo account that goes by Digital Chat Station. Currently, we don’t know the retail name of the Xiaomi M2004J7AC but according to Digital Chat Station, it is a Redmi device. The TENAA listing of the Redmi M2004J7AC not only reveals the phone’s key specifications but also the product’s images.

According to the listing on TENAA, the M2004J7AC has a 6.57-inch OLED display with 2400 x 1800 pixels resolution and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The image of the device on the certification platform further reveals that the display has a traditional, center-aligned, U-shaped notch, and thin bezels.

Coming to the internals, DCS reveals that the M2004J7AC will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset, and the phone’s listing on TENAA states that its CPU has 2.6GHz clock frequency, 4420mAh battery and the device will be available in 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variants. On the software side of things, the M2004J7AC has an Android 10 operating system.

The images of the phone revealed on the certification platform show that it will have a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP primary camera, while the spec sheet reveals that the resolution of the front-facing camera is 16MP. The resolution of the two other cameras at the rear is currently unknown.

Coming to the connectivity options of the device, the M2004J7AC has support for two SIM cards, 5G cellular connectivity with SA and NSA support, Bluetooth, GPS, and Infrared. Other features that the TENAA listing reveals are that the phone has an SD card slot, measures 164.15 x 75.75 x 8.99mm, weighs 206 grams, and it will be available in blue, black, green, pink, red, white, and silver color options. In addition to this DCS claims that the phone will have 22.5W and 33W charging support.

Last but not the least, the images of the M2004J7AC on TENAA show that the phone has a glossy finish on the back panel, curved edges all around, and that the power and volume buttons are placed on the right-hand side of the device and the SIM card tray is placed on the left-hand side of the device.

Along with TENAA certification, the Redmi M2004J7AC has also grabbed MIIT certification today. The listing reveals that the phone has 5G connectivity. And that is about it.
