The iPhone 15 series’ battery lifespan has increased and will now retain 80% of its original capacity at 1,000 complete charge cycles. This was earlier set at 500 complete charge cycles to retain 80% of its original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles.

It is revealed that the improvements in components and power management systems led the brand to re-estimate the battery lifespan. The brand adds that it has undergone many tests, which involve charging and discharging the battery over 1,000 times under specific parameters to achieve the re-estimation.

The change in battery lifespan expectations comes as Apple introduced multiple features to improve battery health with the iOS 17 update. The iOS 17 update allows users to limit charging to 80%, which will enhance battery life.
