Apple is all set to unveil iPhone 15 series smartphones in the third week of September. As per a tip received to 9to5Mac, employees of various mobile carriers are instructed not to take leave on September 13. These employees speculate that the instruction not to take leave is due to a major smartphone launch event. Ahead of the developments, a tipster has revealed (via – Macrumors) the design of the upcoming iPhone SE 4. The leak comes after multiple reports of Apple canceling the iPhone SE series owing to low sales.
A developer recently spotted upcoming iPhone models in tvOS 17 beta codes. The developer found iPhone 14,1, iPhone 14,9, iPhone15,4, iPhone15,5, iPhone16,1, iPhone16,2 identifiers in the source code. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 identifiers relate to the upcoming iPhone 15 series smartphones. The developer adds that the iPhone 14,1 and iPhone 14,9 identifiers relate to iPhone SE and refreshed iPhone 13 mini with USB Type-C ports. However, Apple is unlikely to launch iPhone SE 4 along with the iPhone 15 series smartphones.
Apple iPhone SE 4 Design and Hardware Details Tipped
A tipster named “Unknownz21” confirms that the forthcoming iPhone SE 4 will be a derivative of the iPhone 14. The report comes after the confirmation of noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who revealed that the fourth generation of iPhone SE will be built on the chassis of the iPhone 14. Ming-Chi Kuo confirmed that Apple will continue to equip the device with a 6.1-inch OLED display from BOE. The tweet from Unknownz21 also confirms that Apple will equip the device with a USB Type-C port.
Apple will also ditch Touch ID on its fourth generation iPhone SE 4 smartphone to make way for Face ID. The tipster adds that Apple will equip the device with iPhone 15 Pro series features, such as an Action button. Apple will continue to equip iPhone SE 4 with a single rear camera, distinguishing itself from the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. A recent report also revealed that Apple has started receiving bids from various manufacturers for manufacturing the display of the upcoming iPhone SE 4.
Apple will equip the fourth generation of iPhone SE with its custom 5G modem. A previous report revealed that OLED displays from BOE will cost USD 40 compared to USD 100 for the displays manufactured by Samsung and LG. The low-cost factor will also help Apple to distinguish iPhone SE 4 from the vanilla iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
The forthcoming Apple iPhone SE is also tipped to equip with thin bezels. Apple will likely retain the 60Hz LTPO display and old-school notch with the upcoming SE 4. There is no information about the launch timeline of the forthcoming iPhone SE smartphone. Macrumors adds that Apple might launch the smartphone before 2025, hinting that the device will be launched in the middle of next year.
