Airtel and Vi have upgraded the network infrastructure in Ayodhya ahead of the Ram Mandir Inauguration. Both telecom operators have sent out media releases detailing the upgrades and enhancements in their network infrastructure across significant areas of Ayodhya to provide seamless connectivity to visitors and pilgrims. It is expected that Ayodhya will witness a footfall of more than 7,000 visitors and dignitaries attending the Ram Mandir inauguration, which will be telecast live across various platforms. The temple is expected to welcome around three to five lakh visitors daily after the consecration.

As mentioned, Ayodhya is expected to witness a spike in visitors during and after the Ram Mandir consecration. This massive influx of visitors is likely to impact the network traffic significantly. To ensure that the visiting dignitaries and people have seamless connectivity in the city, Airtel and Vi have taken measures to enhance the network connectivity around significant landmarks and nearby areas in Ayodhya.

Airtel has announced that it has enhanced its network infrastructure in significant areas of Ayodhya, including the airport, railway station, bus stands, hotels, and other significant landmarks. The telco has stated that it has deployed extra network sites or Cells on Wheels (CoW) in significant areas of Ayodhya, like Ayodhya Dham, and expanded the optic fiber cables throughout the city.

According to the telco, it has also installed additional sites and Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) around Ram Mandir to prioritise uninterrupted data connectivity for visitors. It will help the telecom operator to handle the surge during and after the consecration.

Similarly, Vi or Vodafone Idea has collaborated with local authorities, the government, and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to improve its network infrastructure in Ayodhya. Vi announced that it has been able to install more towers in the city with the help of DoT to improve coverage, capacity, and backhaul connectivity across all network spectrum.

Vi has installed new towers and upgraded its spectrum capacity at essential locations like Ram Mandir Premises, surrounding areas, Ayodhya Railway Station, Airport, nearby highways connecting Ayodhya to Lucknow and Varanasi, etc. Visitors using Vi SIM will enjoy seamless connectivity during the Ram Mandir consecration.
