Battlegrounds Mobile Indian, aka BGMI, is officially confirmed to be available in India soon. The Indian government has finally decided to lift the ban on the popular battle royale game. For those who are unaware, the game was banned in July 2022 by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) due to data security issues. Now, after almost one year, the game is confirmed to be available in India, which has undoubtedly given a ray of hope to the Indian mobile gaming community.

Although the BGMI release date is not officially announced, if we go by Krafton, the game will be available soon. With the new version of BGMI, the developers are trying their best to comply with the Indian government’s norms, meaning there will be a lot of tweaks in the game. 1. Krafton Confirms BGMI Will Launch Soon

Krafton, the developer of BGMI or PUBG Mobile, has finally confirmed that it will bring the much-awaited battle royale game to India soon. Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton, Inc. India, said the company is excited to announce that the BGMI game will be available for download soon. However, Sohn didn’t reveal any timeline for the release date, but one could expect it to happen shortly. “We believe in the power of gaming to bring people together and create unforgettable experiences. We are committed to delivering exceptional products and services to our users in India and beyond, and we look forward to continuing our journey with you,” he said in a statement.

2. BGMI India Servers Goes Down Ahead of Official Launch

Interestingly, multiple users have reported that the BGMI India server has stopped working, which hints that the game’s launch is imminent. This means that the developers are readying a new server for the Indian users to have a better experience once the game is re-launched in the country.

3. No Blood for Upcoming BGMI Game

Krafton has confirmed that it has put in place several measures to ensure compliance with all Indian laws. According to a report by News18, the developers of the game were asked to put in some measures for the ban to be lifted. One of the points was changing the colour of the blood. Earlier, BGMI changed the colour of the blood from red to green in BGMI after the PUBG Mobile ban.

However, it would be interesting to see whether the game will feature a different approach, which could be similar to the Chinese version. For example, Krafton uses special green dots to represent blood in the Chinese version of the game and the red blood is replaced with bright green bubbles. Therefore, one could expect a similar sort of implementation in the BGMI game to remove the blood in the gameplay.

4. Time Limit

The upcoming BGMI game will come with strict time limits and restrictions on hours of playing; as per a report by News18, the Indian government has asked Krafton to put a time limit and restrictions on the hours so that players cannot engage with the game 24×7. Earlier, the game showed a warning if a user played the game for several hours. However, in the latest version of the game, we might expect these norms to get strict, and it could be a possibility that the developers might lock the game if the time limit exceeds.

5. Tweaked User Interface to Avoid Addiction

The Battlegrounds Mobile will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. However, the Indian government has asked the developers to make some modifications to the game to avoid addiction. Interestingly, the Krafton spokesperson has confirmed that the game will follow responsible gaming practices, and the company will prioritise the player’s well-being.

“We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our players and believe that by promoting responsible gaming, we can contribute to a healthier gaming culture, where players can enjoy themselves while still taking care of their overall well-being,” the spokesperson added. This confirms that the game will come with some tweaked user interface and game settings to prevent gaming addiction, especially in teenagers.

We have seen multiple incidents of suicide and even murder due to the addiction to BGMI. One of the most recent cases was of a teenager who allegedly shot his mother dead as she stopped him from playing the game. So. to reduce such cases, BGMI might implement some new measures.
