What is GP1 and GP2 in BSNL?

GP in BSNL terms stands for grace period. After the validity of your current plan is over, your SIM enters a grace period. You can still recharge the connection in the grace period. There are two grace periods in BSNL connections:

  • GP1: Grace Period 1 starts from the day after the existing plan is expired and it lasts for 7 days. If you recharge within GP1, the balance and benefits will be carried forward to the next recharge. If the customer fails to recharge within GP1, the balance in the previous plan will lapse. Incoming calls will be available during this period, but not outgoing calls.
  • GP2: Grace Period 2 starts after GP1 (i.e., 7 days after plan expiry) and lasts 165 days. In this period, the incoming and outgoing calls will be stopped. If the customer fails to recharge within GP2, the SIM card will be terminated and the number may be lost.
