Epic Games has a continuing practice of offering one free game every week, and in the coming week, this would be Relicta. According to reports, Relicta will replace the presently available free game on the Epic Games Store, Galactic Civilizations 3. The latter will be the free game of choice starting today, January 14, until January 20. From January 21 to 27, the next free game on the Store would be Relicta, made by indie game developer studio, Mighty Polygon.
Relicta is a sci-fi game set in the 22nd century and you’re expected to use the principles of physics to navigate through the game, and of course, there is a mighty frightful enemy that’s looking to bring you down from the depths of the “eternally dark craters of the moon.” There’s also the mention of 22nd century “orbital politics” for you to deal with — something that does not feel too far-fetched given that we’re approaching something close to orbital politics here on Earth, already.
The description of Relicta, the next free game on Epic Games, says, “Play as a top physicist stranded on an eerie, derelict Moon base. Find your way around the enigmatic, terraformed craters by bending gravity and magnetism to your will in order to solve physical puzzles. Will you rush straight ahead and try to reach safety – or will you take your time to gather clues and unravel the intrigues of 22nd century orbital politics? Buried in the eternal darkness of the lunar craters lies a secret that might claim your daughter’s life – or change the fate of humanity forever. Are you ready to face the ultimate consequences of your research?”
How to get Relicta for free on Epic Games Store
To get the game for free, follow the subsequent steps:
- Between January 21 and 27, sign in to the Epic Games Store
- If you do not have an account already, head to the Epic Games website, and from the top-right bar on the site, create your account
- Once created, download the Epic desktop client and sign in using your pre-existing or newly created game account
- In the desktop client, search for ‘Relicta’ on the Store
- Between the above-mentioned dates, the game will be available for free, which you can available by clicking on the ‘buy’ button
- You will be shown a nil billable amount, following which you can checkout and confirm your purchase
- The game will now be added to your collection, and will stay with you forever
- You can then download it from the Library section of the desktop client, wait for the download to finish, and start playing it on your PC
