Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi is expected to soon launch its very first flagship-grade smartphone in China. Even though an official date has not been confirmed by the brand yet, the Redmi flagship is rumored to be made official sometime later this month. According to one of our trusted sources, however, Redmi will be launching not one but two new flagship smartphones in China very soon.

Two Redmi Flagship Smartphones to Launch in China This Month

The information that we have received claims the Redmi flagship smartphones will be available in three color options in China: Red, Blue, and “Carbon Fiber”. In addition to being available in the same colors, our source suggests the two phones will be similar in the memory department as well. They will be offered in a total of four configurations: 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Apart from the color and storage variants, there is no other detail that can confirm at this point.

A recent leak had suggested the Redmi flagship smartphone could carry the Redmi K20 moniker. While Redmi is yet to confirm the name of its upcoming flagship, it did release a short teaser recently on Chinese microblogging site Weibo to confirm the presence of a pop-up selfie camera. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has also confirmed the presence of an In-display fingerprint sensor. Since our source suggests the two upcoming Redmi smartphones will have quite a few things in common with one another, it is likely that both of them may have a pop-up selfie camera and an In-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, we expect the Redmi flagship smartphones to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. According to a company executive, Xiaomi will be holding a press event in China on May 13. It is likely that the company will be taking the wraps off both the flagship smartphones at the event.
