Google Felix Possibly a Foldable Pixel Smartphone Spotted on Geekbench with 12GB RAM, Tensor G2 SoC; Launch Expected Soon

Google is rumoured to be working on a new foldable smartphone. There have been rumours about Google killing its foldable smartphone project owing to severe competition. However, recent developments suggest that the Pixel 7 series maker is indeed working on a foldable phone. The company is likely to launch its first foldable smartphone next year and call it the Google Pixel Fold.

According to reports, the Pixel Fold will debut in May 2023. This is around the same timeline as the Google I/O. Google has not confirmed any details about the foldable phone. Meanwhile, a Google smartphone, possibly the Pixel Fold, has been spotted on the Geekbench website. The listing on Geekbench confirms some key details about the Google foldable phone.

Possible Google Pixel Fold Gets Benchmarked

The Google Pixel Fold could have possibly hit the Geekbench website to mark its visit and reveal some performance unit details ahead of launch. The listing shows a phone codenamed Felix, which is often associated with the Pixel Fold. This smartphone has been spotted on the benchmark website with the Google Tensor G2 SoC, which is also found in the flagship Pixel 7 series. According to the listing, the SoC has two high-performance cores clocked at 2.85GHz. There are two Silver cores clocked at 2.35GHz. The four efficiency cores are clocked at 1.8GHz. The SoC is paired with a Mali-G710 GPU.

According to the listing on Geekbench, the Pixel foldable phone has 12GB of RAM. It also runs Android 13 out of the box. The device scored 1047 and 3257 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests. Do note that such benchmarks can be faked and it is best advised to take the numbers with a pinch of salt.

Other details of the Pixel Fold include the leaked design renders, which show almost the same design language as the Pixel 7 series. The device will have a glass and metal construction. It will sport the same camera module design as the Pixel 7 series. There is a triple-camera setup and an LED flash module on the visor. According to the leaked details, the Pixel Fold will launch in Chalk and Obsidian colours.

It will sport an 8-inch foldable display with slightly thick top and bottom bezels. The top bezel will house a 9.5MP front camera. On the outside, the Pixel Fold is rumoured to feature a 6.19-inch cover screen with a hole-punch cutout for the 9.5MP second front camera. It is expected to be priced at $1799 (roughly Rs 1,47,100).
