Google Pixel 7a Visits Geekbench with Tensor G2 SoC, 8GB of RAM Ahead of I/O 2023

Google is gearing up for I/O 2023. The search engine tech giant will announce multiple new products at the developer event. Android 14 will be the highlight announcement of I/O 2023. Alongside, Google is expected to launch a couple of hardware products at least. There will be the Pixel Fold, alongside which, Google will launch its new Pixel 7a. The company has not confirmed any details about the same. However, going by the flood of leaks that has hit the web, it is safe to say that the products mentioned above will debut at I/O 2023.

Ahead of the official launch, the Pixel 7a has visited the Geekbench website. The listing on Geekbench confirms many details about the upcoming Pixel phone. Let’s take a look at the Google Pixel 7a specifications, features and other details known so far.

Google Pixel 7a Geekbench Listing Confirms Key Specs

The Google Pixel 7a will replace the Pixel 6a as the company’s new A-series smartphone. It is expected to launch at I/O 2023. Ahead of the launch, the Pixel 7a has been spotted on Geekbench, which reveals the performance unit details.

The Pixel 7a draws power from a Tensor G2 SoC, which has a peak clock speed of 2.85GHz. The SoC has two cores clocked at 2.35GHz and four cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It is paired with a Mali-G710 GPU. The Pixel 7a scored 1380 and 3071 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests.

The variant of the Pixel 7a listed on Geekbench has 8GB of RAM. We can expect the phone to launch with at least 128GB of storage. Other than this, the listing confirms that the phone will run Android 13 out of the box.

In addition to the design renders, we also revealed the marketing materials, which confirmed the key specs of the phone. The Pixel 7a will feature a 64MP dual-camera setup on the back. The main 64MP camera will offer optical image stabilisation (OIS) support and come with a 13MP ultra-wide sensor as well. The rear camera module has a horizontal, visor-like design and also houses the LED flash.

On the front, the screen is flat and sports a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. There will be a 13MP front camera sensor. We also revealed that the phone will come with support for wireless charging, which is a first for any Google A series device. The Pixel 7a is rumoured to get 5W wireless charging. There will be a Titan M2 security chip as well.

The phone will sport a 6.1-inch OLED display with adaptive 90Hz refresh rate support. It will weigh about 193.5 grams and measure 152 x 72.9 x 9.0mm. The Pixel 7a 8GB + 128GB storage option will be priced at CAD 702 (roughly Rs 42,200) in Canada.
