The Google Pixel Watch 2 is expected to launch in the coming months along with the Pixel 8 series. The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to launch around October along with the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 phones, going by the previous track record. The first eve Pixel-branded smartwatch, the Google Pixel Watch was launched last year along with the Pixel 7 series with Wear OS, Fitbit integration, and a cellular connectivity option.
Ahead of the expected launch this time, the Watch 2’s watch faces were leaked a few weeks back and now, we have spotted the device on the FCC website, which reveals some specifics of the details in terms of connectivity. Let’s look at all the details from Pixel Watch 2’s FCC listing.
Google Pixel Watch 2 FCC Listing
The upcoming Pixel Watch 2 with GC3G8 has been listed on the FCC website in the US. As per the listing, the new Pixel watch will come with WCDMA band, LTE band, WLAN and Bluetooth support. This model is said to offer LTE Band 5 and 7 while it will come with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Further, another model with GD2WG model number will offer LTE Band 2/4/5/12/13/17/25/26/66/7. It also comes with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi support. Lastly, the listing also reveals a Wi-Fi model with the G4TSL model number, which comes with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Further, the listing also reveals four strap options 一 Plastic active strap, metal mesh strap, metal link strap, and metal slim strap. No images of straps were revealed. Lastly, the Google Pixel Watch 2 has been tested on FCC with an 18W G1000 Pixel adapter. Apart from these bits and pieces, the FCC does not reveal much about the upcoming premium smartwatch from Google.
Google Pixel Watch 2: What to Expect?
Based on the previous leaks and reports, the Pixel Watch 2 is said to get new watch faces and it is said to run on Wear OS 4 out of the box. The Pixel Watch 2 is said to have at least four new watch faces: Accessible, Arc, Analog Bold, and Bold Digital. All these new watch faces will have multiple variants to choose from.
More recently, a report from Android Authority tipped more details about the upcoming watch. The Pixel Watch 2 is said to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, which is expected to offer efficient battery life as compared to the last gen. Another significant improvement will come in terms of ultra-wideband (UWB) support. With this feature, the device will be able to send and receive data within short distances at a fast speed. The Watch 2 is also said to offer a 306mAh battery.
Unlike the last time, the Pixel Watch 2 is also expected to launch in India as the regulatory e-labels include an entry for India’s BIS regulatory body, according to the report. However, there is no confirmation on the same yet. Google is expected to announce the launch date of its new Pixel devices soon.
