Apple is rumoured to launch new iPad models later this year. The company is expected to refresh most of its iPad models. We have already seen the iPad Air getting updated with the M1 chip. Later this year, the 2022 iPad Pro models could come with the new M2 chip. Apple could also expand the iPad Pro lineup with an even larger tablet some time next year. DSCC’s Ross Young claims that a huge 14.1-inch iPad Pro is in the works.

The upcoming iPad Pro model will not debut this year, according to Young’s sources. Apple instead plans to launch the 14.1-inch iPad in 2023. Let’s take a look at more details about the rumoured 14.1-inch iPad Pro model that is tipped to launch next year.

iPad Pro 14.1-inch Launch Tipped

Apple could launch its biggest tablet in terms of form factor next year. The iPad Pro 14.1-inch could debut to compete against the Samsung Tab S8 Ultra. Samsung, earlier this year, launched the Tab S8 Ultra as its most premium Android tablet. The Ultra variant sports a 14.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate support. It also comes with support for Samsung’s S Pen.

Apple could launch its own 14.1-inch iPad Pro, according to Young. Citing supply chain sources, Young claims that the 14.1-inch Apple tablet will use a mini LED panel, which debuted first on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro M1. The 11-inch iPad Pro still uses an LCD. Apple is rumoured to launch the 11-inch model with a mini LED display later this year alongside the 12.9-inch model.

Young’s sources further claim that the 14.1-inch model will have a ProMotion display. This is not a surprise as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro also supports ProMotion. It is unknown if the 14.1-inch Pro model will have the same chipset as the 12.9-inch model. Apple might launch the 2022 iPad Pro models with an M2 chip. The 14.1-inch model, on the other hand, is said to launch in early 2023. It would not be a surprise if Apple launches the 14.1-inch tablet in March when it typically hosts its Spring Apple event.

We are many months away from the rumoured launch. More details of the Apple tablet should surface online in the coming weeks. What do you think about a 14-inch iPad? Do you think it is practical enough to have such a large tablet? Let us know in the comments below.
