iPhone 14 launch event could be held next month. The company has not yet announced the iPhone 14 launch date yet. Apple is expected to host an Apple event for the upcoming iPhone launch on September 13. While we wait for the official launch details, a new report has revealed some production-related details. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will make the iPhone 14 in India. Apple has multiple tie-ups with manufacturers like Wistron and Foxconn in India.

The analyst claims that Foxconn’s production site in India will manufacture the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 almost simultaneously with China for the first time. Apple has been making iPhone models in India for some time now. However, the new iPhone models have hit the manufacturing deck a quarter or more later than China or other markets.

One of the reasons for Apple to make the new iPhone in India simultaneously with China could be shifting bases for production. Due to multiple geo-political issues worldwide and the COVID-19 lockdown, Apple has faced supply chain constraints with manufacturers in China. While the scale of production is quite significant in China, Apple might slowly be setting up alternate production sites to tackle supply chain issues.

Kuo further stated that the gap between India and China for the iPhone’s production and shipment capabilities will be considerable. However, it is an important milestone for Apple in building in non-Chinese iPhone production site amid various geo-political issues.

Apple has refrained from making the Pro models in India. It would be interesting to see if Apple will partner with manufacturers for producing the Pro models in India in the coming quarters.
