itel has launched a new smartphone in the itel P55 series in the South African markets. The Chinese smartphone OEM debuts the itel P55+ smartphone. The smartphone only offers 4G connectivity, which is a downgrade compared to the vanilla itel P55 smartphone, which offers 5G connectivity. itel equips the new P55+ smartphone with a Unisoc chipset, HD+ display, 90Hz refresh rate, 50MP primary camera and more. itel P55+: Pricing, Availability

itel has launched the itel P55+ smartphone in Galaxy Blue, Royal Green, and Meteor Purple colour options. The Chinese budget smartphone OEM debuts the smartphone in three configurations. The base variant has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The other variant sports 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of internal storage.

itel P55+: Features, Specifications

itel reveals that the itel P55+ smartphone features 6.6-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution, similar to the vanilla P55 smartphone. The company equips the device with a centered punch-hole cutout to house the selfie camera. The smartphone features fair amount of bezels on all sides of the display. Under the hood, the device features the popular Unisoc T606 chipset, built on a 12nm process.

The chipset is popular among budget 4G smartphones available across the globe. The chipset features two Cortex A75 cores at 1.6GHz, six Cortex A55 cores at 1.6GHz, and a Mali G57 MP1 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 13 out of the box. itel equips the smartphone with support for virtual RAM expansion. The budget itel smartphone also supports microSD card slot to expand storage.

A large 5000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging backs the smartphone. The company claims the device can be charged from 0 to 100 in 75 minutes. The 5000mAh battery on the smartphone is rated for 1200 charge cycles without any reduction in the battery health. itel also equips the smartphone with a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom.
