Jio has introduced two new AirFiber plans in India. The Rs 101 and Rs 251 plans (plus GST) are add-on plans, which means that you can still use the internet even when the base plan gets all used up.
Starting with the details, the Rs 101 plan includes 100GB of data and has the same speed as the base plan. For instance, if you have opted for the Rs 899 plan, you will get up to 100Gbps speeds and 1000GB of data.
The Rs 251 plan data booster plan follows the same drill but comes with 500GB of additional data. Both plans are devoid of voice-calling benefits and come with the same validity as the base plan.
The new Jio AirFiber data booster plans are now available via the MyJio app and Jio.com and can be used by all AirFiber customers. These have been added to join the existing Rs 599, Rs 899, and Rs 1,199 AirFiber plans. AirFiber Max plans worth Rs 1,499, Rs 2,499, and Rs 3,999 are also still present.
Jio’s introduction of add-on data plans for AirFiber is not a new strategy. The telco has introduced add-on plans for its prepaid users in the past, allowing people to gain extra data to keep their internet usage intact. This is just another step in Jio’s endeavour of offering people easy and cheaper access to the internet.
Jio AirFiber: What is it?
Jio introduced its AirFiber wireless internet service in September 2023, which brings fibre-like speeds using a 5G network. It allows users to create personal Wi-Fi networks with simple plug-and-play functionality and easy to setup process. It runs on Wi-Fi 6 standards and can be managed via an app.
It’s available in two tiers: AirFiber and AirFiber Max. Both these plans allow you to install a Wi-Fi router (separate from the AirFiber unit) and a set-top box, that grants you access to OTT apps and live channels, without any additional charges.
