Jio Phone 5G has been in the news for over a year now. Reliance announced that the company will launch Jio Phone 5G in India at their 43rd Annual General Meeting last year in July. While we were expecting the phone to launch at this year’s AGM a few weeks back, that did not happen. Since the 5G service is expected to roll out in India in October, the Jio Phone 5G might be launched in the coming weeks.

While we still don’t know the exact launch timeline of the device, the Jio Phone 5G’s price range was recently tipped and now, the specifications of the upcoming affordable 5G phone have been leaked. A report from 91mobiles has revealed most of the key specifications and features of the upcoming Jio 5G phone. Let’s take a look at the details.

Jio Phone 5G: Specifications Leaked

For starters, according to the report, the Jio Phone 5G has the codename “Ganga” and comes with the “LS1654QB5” model number. The Jio Phone 5G is tipped to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz screen refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 480 processor, which is Qualcomm’s entry-level 5G SoC. This chip will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Further, the device is said to come with a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. In terms of optics, the device also comes with a dual rear camera setup on the back with a 13MP main camera and a 2MP secondary lens. To the front, the device is tipped to feature an 8MP shooter. The device will run on Android 12 out of the box and since it is tipped to come with 4GB of RAM, we can expect the full version of Android OS, instead of Android Go Edition here. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, and Syntiant NDP115 always-on AI processor.

Based on the leak, the Jio Phone 5G looks like a decent entry-level phone with a decent set of specifications and features. As for the price, the device is tipped to be affordable in India. Reliance Group chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani back in August, while addressing the company’s shareholders, said that the company is developing an affordable 5G smartphone for India. The launch is expected to happen soon once the 5G services are rollout in India next month.
