Rumors surrounding the next-generation smartphone in the Xiaomi Mi Mix series have constantly been flooding the internet for the past couple of months. As it turns out, the company does not want to keep more secrets from us and has finally taken the next Mi MIX out of its bag.
News has popped out on the internet, courtesy of a post on Weibo via their official handle. As it turns out, the next Mi MIX device will be dubbed the “Mi MIX Alpha” and will have an insane screen-to-body ratio. In fact, it looks like the phone will have a foldable screen, similar to what we saw on the Huawei Mate X. The poster that you can see above clearly suggests that the Mi Mix Alpha will have almost no bezels. Furthermore, the device will launch alongside the Mi 9 Pro 5G on September 24 (1:00 PM CST).
Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha: Expected Specs
Speaking of the specifications of the Mi MIX Alpha, the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset is more than confirmed. The processor will be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS internal storage. The device will come with 5G connectivity on board. Furthermore, there have been rumors suggesting that the device will sport a triple-rear camera with a 108MP primary camera (Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor).
As far as the OS is concerned, we are most likely going to see MIUI 11 on the Mi MIX Alpha (and even on the Mi 9 Pro 5G). The company has started talking about the MIUI 11 already (and has even used the hashtag in its tweets lately) and has confirmed that the latest iteration is right around the corner. The company seems to be prepping a one-switch option to turn off all ads/push notifications in its stock apps. The price tag and the rest of the specifications of the device are also a mystery for now.
