Windows 11 Will Stop Supporting Android Apps Soon

Those already using the Amazon App Store and have installed apps through it have one year to use them. Further, new users will be unable to search for Amazon App Store and associated apps starting March 6, 2024.

Amazon has assured a smooth and efficient end for customers and developers of Android apps on Windows 11. According to the official post, Amazon has partnered with Microsoft for this. Additionally, the company has mentioned that the Amazon App Store will stop accepting new apps starting March 5, 2024.

However, those with an app can submit updates and push them to users until March 25, 2024, when WSA and Amazon App Store are fully discontinued.

While the Amazon App Store was Microsoft’s answer to Chromebooks and M-series MacBooks, it was not the same as having direct access to Android apps through the Play Store. This is probably why Microsoft has decided to end support for Android apps. Another reason could be Microsoft’s undivided focus on AI features and Copilot upgrades.
