Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy S21 FE. The company announced its new affordable flagship smartphone after it was leaked a number of times over the last year. The new Galaxy S21 series smartphone has arrived weeks ahead of the Galaxy S22 series, which is expected to launch in February 2022. Samsung is yet to confirm the official launch date of the Galaxy S21 FE. The Fan Edition smartphone is expected to launch later this month in India. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launch date for India is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, the alleged pricing details of the device have leaked. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Galaxy S21 FE will be launched in India at a starting price of around Rs 52,000. Assuming that the official price will be Rs 51,999, it will be higher than the OnePlus 9RT, which is likely to launch at around Rs 45,000 in India.
The tipster further states that the FE’s price will be brought down between Rs 48,000 and Rs 49000 after combining it with card offers and discounts. Samsung is yet to announce the official pricing details. Therefore, we advise our readers to take the leaked pricing details with a pinch of salt.
Specifications and features
The Galaxy S21 FE features a 6.4-inch Dynamic 2X AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display features a centrally aligned hole-punch cutout for the 32MP front camera. The device draws power from a Snapdragon 888 SoC but the India variant could come with Exynos 2100 under the hood. It packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.
The international base variant comes with 6GB + 128GB. However, in India, Samsung is said to launch the device in the other two storage options with 8GB RAM as standard. The device will come with 128GB and 256GB.
On the back, there is a triple-camera setup. The phone has a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera. Other specs include an IP68 rating for water resistance, an in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port, etc. The phone runs Android 12-based OneUI 4.0 out of the box.
