Let’s take a look at the Vivo X Fold 2 specifications, features and other details known so far.
Vivo X Fold 2 Specifications: What is Known So Far
The Vivo X Fold 2 will be a premium foldable smartphone launching later this month in China. The foldable phone has cleared a local certification in China ahead of the launch. As per the listing, the X Fold 2 will pack a 4800mAh battery. The foldable phone will also get an upgraded 120W fast charging support.
The battery capacity is slightly bigger than the outgoing X Fold+, which came with a 4700mAh battery. The X Fold+ also supported only 80W fast charging. This means that the X Fold 2 will get key upgrades in the battery and charging department.
The company has already confirmed that the foldable phone will feature a triple-camera setup on the back. There is a circular camera module on the rear, which also houses an LED flash. The camera setup has been tuned in collaboration with Zeiss. As per a leaked report, the X Fold 2 will feature a 50MPSony IMX866 main camera with OIS support. There will also be a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP IMX663 telephoto camera. Some rumours claim that the X Fold 2’s camera stack will have three 50MP sensors on the back instead of the 50MP + 12MP + 12MP sensor setup.
There will be a dedicated Vivo V2 ISP for enhancing the camera performance. On the outside, there is a tall cover display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The screen is slightly curved on the right side.
The X Fold 2 will sport an 8-inch E6 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution. The foldable screen will support a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will draw power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is said to launch with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage in China.
The foldable phone is also said to get an in-display fingerprint scanner on the cover display. In addition to this, the X Fold 2 will be a thin and lightweight compared to many foldable phones of its kind.
There is no word on whether the X Fold 2 will launch outside China. The company is expected to announce more details soon after the phone’s launch in China.
