Motorola might launch a new Edge 40 series device soon. The company has already launched the Moto Edge 40 Pro in Europe. The device is likely to debut soon in India as well. Sitting below the Edge 40 Pro would be the Edge 40 5G, which is expected to launch soon in various markets. MySmartPrice exclusively revealed the specifications of the Edge 40 series weeks ago. The premium smartphone from Motorola will sport a curved pOLED display and feature a Dimensity SoC.

Adding to the leaks is a new one by tipster Evan Blass, aka EvLeaks. The tipster has uploaded a video which reveals the key design details and specifications of the Motorola Edge 40. The tipster also uploaded some design images of the phone, which confirmed the colour options. Let’s take a look at the Motorola Moto Edge 40 design, specifications and other details known so far.

Motorola Edge 40 Design and Key Features Tipped in New Leak

The Motorola Edge 40 will be a premium smartphone offering from the company. The phone is expected to launch in May in various markets. Ahead of the launch, Blass has uploaded a video which confirms some of the key details we had revealed in the past.

The Edge 40 has a curved display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The phone has a dual-camera setup on the back, made of faux leather. The video further reveals that the Edge 40 supports Dolby Atmos for dual speakers, a USB Type-C port at the bottom and an IP rating for water resistance.

The Edge 40 will feature a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. In addition, it will have an f/1.4 aperture, which according to the company, will be the widest in any smartphone. The tipster revealed the phone’s official images in Lunar Blue, Nebula Green, Eclipse Black and Magenta. The latter three have a faux leather back, whereas the Blue variant will likely feature an acrylic back panel.

We have already revealed the rest of the specs of the Edge 40. The phone will sport a 6.55-inch Full HD+ pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate support. There will be support for HDR10+. The display will offer 1200 nits of peak brightness. For biometrics, there will be an optical in-display fingerprint scanner and support for AI face unlock.

The hole-punch cutout at the top centre of the display will feature a 32MP front camera. The Edge 40 will feature a 50MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view. It will launch with a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC. The phone will launch with at least 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and offer up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There will be a 4400mAh battery with support for 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

The Edge 40 will weigh about 171 grams and measure 158.43 x 71.99 x 7.58mm. It will come with an IP68 rating and boot Android 13-based MyUX out of the box.
