Sony’s first PlayStation State of Play showcase event for 2024 is over. It was slightly over 40 minutes long as promised by the company. The stream was packed with new announcements, trailers, extended trailers, and release timelines for various games. Legendary game designer Hideo Kojima also took the stage to announce a new original IP for PlayStation players. Here are all the important details you need to know.

Death Stranding 2 On The Beach Trailer and Release Timeline
Death Stranding sequel is now officially confirmed to be called Death Stranding 2 On The Beach. The trailer showed both Sam Porter Bridges and Fragile in action along with other characters. Their next adventure will be to join hands and try to save humanity from extinction. You also get a good look at Giggs who has his unique electric guitar-styled weapon.
The trailer wraps up by offering a glimpse of Elle Fanning’s character but in true Hideo Kojima style, it does not offer any details or clues about who she is or what she is up to. Death Stranding 2 is set to release sometime in 2025 on PlayStation 5.
Physint: A New Hideo Kojima Original IP for PlayStation
Hideo Kojima also revealed he is working on a new original IP for PlayStation. It is currently referred to as Physint but an official title is undecided. It will be a next-generation action espionage game that aims to blur the line between movies and video games. The IP will go under production after Death Stranding 2.
Stellar Blade PlayStation 5 Release Date and Pre-Order Details
Stellar Blade is an upcoming title from Shift Up which has been making headlines for the last couple of years. This single-player adventure game is now set to release on April 26. It will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive release with pre-orders kicking off on February 7. You can get a better idea of the game in the video below which also shows the protagonist Eve in action.
Until Dawn Remaster Coming to PlayStation 5 and PC
Until Dawn is a horror adventure game from 2014 and is now getting a remastered version. Until Dawn Remaster will bring the same horrifying experience in a new third-person mode along with better visuals and audio. It will arrive on both PlayStation 5 and PCs later this year.
Rise of the Ronin Gameplay Overview
We already know a lot of things about Rise of the Ronin. The game is currently up for pre-orders with a release date set for March 22. The new video gives us a better insight into what to expect from the game.
Sonic X Shadow Generations Announced
Sega has announced Sonic X Shadow Generations for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. It will bring a combination of 2D and 3D Sonic levels including remastered versions. The game also has an all-new stand-alone campaign featuring Shadow the Hedgehog. It is currently scheduled to release sometime in the Autumn of 2024.
Silent Hill: The Short Message and Silent Hill 2 Revealed
Konima made not one but two Silent Hill announcements for the fans of this first-person survival horror game. The first one is about Silent Hill: The Short Message which is a free-to-play spin-off title. It will be available for free to PlayStation 5 players later today.
The studio went on to announce the Silent Hill 2 remake project. It did not offer any details about the release window and only shared a combat reveal trailer.
Metro Awakening PS VR2 Release
If you are a fan of the Metro series and VR games, there is some good news. Metro Awakening is all set to release on PS VR2 in 2024. It is an original game set before the events of Metro 2033. You will get to play a doctor searching for his wife amongst the claustrophobic, irradiated metro tunnels of post-apocalyptic Moscow.
