Finnish brand HMD Global announced the Nokia 9 PureView at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year. While the smartphone is currently on sale in several markets, it is yet to be launched in India. In an interview given to the Telegraph a few weeks back, HMD Global Vice President and country head (India) Ajey Mehta confirmed that the flagship Nokia smartphone will be coming to the Indian market. The Nokia 9 PureView has now been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which suggests it may soon be launched in the country.

Nokia 9 PureView to Finally Launch in India Soon?

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has certified the TA-1087 variant of the flagship Nokia 9 PureView. Now that the phone has been certified by the BIS, it is possible that it will be formally launched in the country very soon. As mentioned earlier, HMD Global India head had confirmed in March that the company will be bringing the Nokia 9 PureView to the country, although he did not specify any timeframe.

Nokia 9 PureView has a 5.99-inch OLED display panel with 1440 x 2880 Quad HD+ resolution, an In-display fingerprint sensor, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Powering the latest Nokia flagship smartphone is last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset clocked at up to 2.8 GHz. The smartphone’s key highlight is the penta-camera setup on the back. Nokia 9 PureView has a total of five 12MP resolution sensors with ZEISS optics. Out of the five sensors, two are RGB sensors while the other three are monochromatic sensors. Additionally, the smartphone has a 3D ToF sensor.

For selfies, the flagship Nokia phone has a 20MP snapper with HDR support. When it comes to battery life, however, the Nokia 9 PureView is not as impressive as some of the other flagship smartphones out there. It packs a 3320mAh capacity battery with 18W fast charging support. Thanks to it being less impressive than other 2019 flagship phones as an overall package, we expect HMD Global to price it somewhere around INR 45,000 in India.
