Nothing Ear (2) is set to launch on March 22. The company has confirmed the launch date of its new premium truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds in India and other markets. The Ear (2) will be available for purchase via Flipkart in India. Nothing will announce the price and specifications of the upcoming earbuds later this month. While confirming the launch, Nothing claimed that its upcoming second-generation TWS earbuds will feature the company’s “iconic design with elite engineering and next-level personalisation for the ultimate sound experience.” Now, founder Carl Pei has revealed some more details about the Ear (2).

Pei, in an interview with Forbes, revealed that the Nothing Ear (2) will feature IP54 rating for basic splash and sweat protection. The Nothing CEO also revealed some more details about the upcoming earbuds. Let’s take a look at the Nothing Ear (2) specifications, features and other details revealed ahead of the launch.

Nothing Ear (2) Features Officially Teased

The Nothing Ear (2) is set to officially launch on March 22 in India and other global markets. Ahead of the launch, some key features have been confirmed. The Ear (2) will come with support for LHDC 5.0. This is an upgrade over the Ear (1)’s AAC codec support. With LHDC 5.0, users can listen to hi-res audio over Bluetooth.

The Nothing CEO also revealed that the upcoming premium earbuds will feature support for improved splash and dust resistance. Pei said that the Ear (2) will come with an IP54 rating for water resistance. In comparison, the first-generation model came with an IPX4 rating where the earbuds were not provided with any official rating for protection against dust.

Nothing about the upcoming earbuds other than the information shared above has been officially confirmed by the brand. However, some details about the TWS have leaked. The Nothing wireless earbuds design renders have leaked in the past. The earbuds will continue to sport the same design as the first-generation model. There might be some minor changes here and there.

There is a stem design, which is semi-transparent and shows a black strip covering the internals of the earbuds. We can also see the two circular batteries packed on the inner side of the earbuds. There is the Nothing Ear (2) branding on the stem to help identify the difference between the newer and older models. The earbuds continue to sport silicone ear tips for added grip and passive noise cancellation.

The earbuds are also likely to retain some of the features from the Ear (1). These include support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency Mode, etc. The new Nothing earbuds are also said to get support for Advanced EQ with custom settings. In addition to this, there will be support for GPS tracking via the Find my Earbuds feature. Other details about the Nothing earbuds are under wraps. The company might drop a few more teasers as we approach the launch. The earbuds will be available for purchase soon in India. We will share more details about the same as and when officially confirmed.
