Ola’s new S1 electric scooter became a hit right at its launch which took place earlier in August. The latest EV from Ola managed to amass over 80,000 bookings within 12 hours of its debut. This clearly indicates massive anticipation for the new Ola S1 in the Indian market. The good news is, Ola S1 will soon be up for sale for both those who pre-registered for the EV and those who didn’t.
Ola Electric notes that the customers who availed early access will be able to make the final payment for the S1 EV on September 1. For others, the same payment window will start from September 2. With this, Ola will be commencing the sales of its second electric scooter and electric vehicle in India. The doorstep delivery for Ola S1 will begin September 7 onwards, pan India.
As per Ola, those interested can reserve their Ola S1 directly from the Ola app or from the official Ola Electric website. For customers planning to buy the electric scooter on loan, Ola will offer EMI payment plans starting at Rs 2,999. The company also promises to waive the fee applied for loan processing, further easing the purchase for the buyers. Easy finance options are also provided by 5 finance partners.
For those unaware, Ola launched the S1 electric scooter as a more affordable version of its popular Ola S1 Pro EV this month. The e-scooter copies its build and style and carries a price tag of Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom). It misses out on some of the features of its Pro model. What it does get, is an ARAI-certified range of about 140kms and a true range of 128kms.
This is made possible by the EV’s 2.98 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, smaller than the S1 Pro’s 3.97 kWh backup. It powers an electric motor with a maximum power of 8.5kW and a maximum torque of 58Nm. With this, the S1 electric scooter goes up to a top speed of 115 kmph.
The electric scooter will also feature the latest software updates by the company that were rolled out with its MoveOS 2.0. These will include Music Playback, Navigation, Companion App, and Reverse Mode. The Ola S1 will be available in Porcelain White, Jet Black, Neo Mint, Coral Glam, and Liquid Silver.
