The OnePlus 12 launch is around the corner. The Chinese smartphone maker recently confirmed the debut date for the OnePlus 12 flagship smartphone, which is set to take place on December 5, 2023, in its home country, China. Meanwhile, the company has also revealed the phone’s design and started its campaign globally with a giveaway on the official website.
OnePlus has had a fantastic year with the OnePlus 11 series, the OnePlus Nord 3 series, the OnePlus Nord Buds series and more recently the success of the OnePlus Open foldable device. The OnePlus 12 is expected to launch globally after the China launch next week. But, ahead of the official announcement, the possible launch date of the OnePlus 12 has been revealed along with some news about the OnePlus 12R as well.
According to a report from Android Authority, the OnePlus website has given out what could possibly be the global launch date of the upcoming flagship device from OnePlus. The giveaway terms and conditions page on the site mentions that the giveaway will end on January 23, 2024. However, the Indian OnePlus website mentions that the giveaway will end a day before the launch of the OnePlus 12.
Going by the past track record of the company, OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 12 globally on the same day, which includes markets like India, the USA, the UK, and some European nations. By joining the dots, we can almost conclude that the OnePlus 12 is set to launch globally on January 24, 2024. However, there is no word on the launch from the brand yet. This means the phone could be launched earlier as well.
Furthermore, the giveaway page on the US website mentions “Click Subscribe now and get a chance to win a free OnePlus 12 or an upcoming new OnePlus product!一 Here, the upcoming OnePlus product hints that the company might launch another new device. When the OnePlus 11 was launched globally, the 11R also was launched, but that was only for the Indian region. Similarly, this time around, the OnePlus 12R could launch and for the first time, the R series from OnePlus might be launched in the US market as well.
A popular Android enthusiast/tipster on Twitter, 1NormalUsername did some digging and spotted that the latest Oxygen OS 14 builds mention multiple international variants possible OnePlus 12R device. This is one of the indications that the 12R might launch outside of India this time around. The OnePlus 12R could have model number PJE110 and international variants in the form of CPH2585, CPH2609, and CPH2611.
