OnePlus is rumoured to launch its next flagship, the OnePlus 12, later this year. As per rumours, the OnePlus 12 launch event will be hosted in China in December. Global markets will have to wait a bit longer as the top-end Android smartphone is tipped to launch outside China in February 2024. OnePlus has obviously not confirmed any details about the same. The latest leak has revealed the specifications and key features of the OnePlus 12. The leaked details suggest that the OnePlus 12 might get some key camera upgrades, along with the latest performance unit. The new report has surfaced days after design renders of the OnePlus flagship leaked online. OnePlus 12 5G: Specifications and Features (Leaked)
OnePlus 12 5G will take on the next generation of premium Android smartphones launching later this year and early 2024 in various markets. The phone will launch with a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood. The upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC will be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit in October. OnePlus 12 will be among the first few smartphones to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, according to the leaked details.
The SmartPrix report, citing tipster OnLeaks, also revealed that the Android flagship smartphone from OnePlus will launch with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of storage based on the speedy UFS 4.0 standard.
The device’s battery capacity is said to get a major bump from 5000mAh to 5400mAh. It will continue to offer 100W fast charging support. There will also be 50W wireless charging support, according to the leaked details. It is likely that OnePlus will bundle the SuperVOOC charging adapter along with the cable in the box.
On the back, the OnePlus 12 5G will sport a triple-camera setup. The leaked design renders showed a periscope lens-like cutout on the back. The SmartPrix report revealed some details about the camera sensor setup. According to the leak, the OnePlus 12 camera system will feature a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP telephoto camera. Some rumours on the web claim that the OnePlus 12 will feature a Sony IMX9-series main camera sensor. For selfies, there will be a 32MP front camera. The device will come with a Hasselblad-tuned camera system
The front of the device will continue to sport a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display. The screen will sport a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera. According to the SmartPrix report, the OnePlus 12 will boot Oxygen OS 14 out of the box, which will be based on Android 14. Other leaked details include an in-display fingerprint scanner, an alert slider, etc.
