The Infinix GT 10 Pro boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. In contrast, the GT 20 Pro features a slightly taller AMOLED display offering a 144Hz refresh rate. Brightness-wise, the GT 20 Pro outshines the GT 10 Pro by 400 nits, making its display feel brighter both indoors and outdoors.

Colours appear much more accurate on the GT 20 Pro’s display with sharp details. While the Infinix GT 10 Pro also delivers good display quality, unfortunately, reds and browns tend to be overly saturated. With a 144Hz refresh rate for the GT 20 Pro and 120Hz for the GT 10 Pro, scrolling and animations feel noticeably faster, occasionally encountering lag on the latter. Therefore, the Infinix GT 20 Pro excels over its predecessor in display performance.

When considering the design of these phones, both feature nearly identical designs, with the back panel offering a distinctive gaming aesthetic. Regarding comfort, the Infinix GT 20 Pro feels more ergonomic in hand, although the Infinix GT 10 Pro weighs less than its successor. The GT 20 Pro also boasts a slimmer profile than the 10 Pro. The Infinix GT 20 Pro comes with an RGB light at the back which makes it unique in the price segment and sets it apart from the outgoing model. This should attract a lot of gamers. Apart from this, there isn’t much to compare in terms of design.

Infinix GT 20 Pro vs Infinix GT 10 Pro: Performance

The Infinix GT 20 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate SoC, which smoothly handles everyday tasks like calling, texting, scrolling through Instagram, capturing photos, and streaming YouTube videos. Its 144Hz refresh rate enhances the overall user experience. In the Antutu v10 benchmark, the Infinix GT 20 Pro scored 9,43,510 points, indicating commendable performance. Similarly, the Geekbench 6 benchmark score stood at 1009 points in the single-core and 3392 points in the multi-core test.

The Infinix GT 10 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC and manages daily tasks efficiently, albeit with occasional minor lags and stutters. In synthetic benchmarks like Antutu, the GT 10 Pro scored slightly lower than its counterpart. Similarly, in Geekbench, while the GT 10 Pro scored marginally higher in the single-core test, it scored slightly lower in the multi-core test, as shown in the table above.

Regarding gaming performance, both phones support gaming at 90fps. We tested both BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile on both devices. BGMI, set to Smooth graphics and Extreme+ frame rates, achieved a maximum frame rate of 90fps and a minimum of 81fps, providing an exceptionally smooth gaming experience. Similarly, Call of Duty: Mobile, played with Low graphics and Ultra frame rates, delivered a seamless gaming experience during Team Deathmatch.

Following nearly an hour of gameplay on each game, the GT 20 Pro experienced some heat near the camera module, but the Cooling Fan alleviated this issue. However, attaching a case and a cooling fan to the phone made the gaming experience quite uncomfortable.

In comparison, while BGMI on Infinix GT 10 Pro with Smooth graphics and Extreme frame rates reached a maximum frame rate of 60fps, it exhibited occasional inconsistencies. Switching to Smooth graphics and Extreme+ frame rates provided a consistent 90fps experience, although occasional lags and stutters were observed during gameplay. Playing Call of Duty: Mobile with Very High graphics and Max frame rates resulted in a consistent 60fps performance during Team Deathmatch. Therefore, in terms of performance, the Infinix GT 20 Pro offers a markedly superior experience compared to the 10 Pro.

Infinix GT 20 Pro vs Infinix GT 10 Pro: Cameras

Both phones boast similar camera specifications. As shown in the table above, the Infinix GT 20 Pro and the GT 10 Pro feature a 108MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera at the back. However, the GT 20 Pro’s primary camera comes with OIS. On the front, both devices have a 32MP selfie camera.

However, regarding image quality, the Infinix GT 20 Pro delivers richer details with sharp colours. In daylight pictures, there’s minimal noise. Conversely, daylight shots appear grainy on the GT 10 Pro, and the colours are overly saturated. The reds, browns, and greens don’t look natural.

The Infinix GT 20 Pro supports digital zoom up to 3x, whereas the GT 10 Pro only supports up to 2x. Unfortunately, the 3x pictures on the GT 20 Pro tend to be grainy, with noise around the edges. Low-light shots exhibit some graininess on both devices. However, the Infinix GT 20 Pro captures better colours in comparison. Nonetheless, extraordinary results should not be expected.

Finally, the selfie camera on both devices takes good pictures, but the Infinix GT 20 Pro consistently captures accurate skin tones. In contrast, the GT 10 Pro shows a noticeable red tint on the forehead and cheek area.

Infinix GT 20 Pro vs Infinix GT 10 Pro: Software

The Infinix GT 20 Pro runs on XOS 14, which is based on Android 14, and the brand has promised two years of OS updates and three years of security updates for this device. On the contrary, the GT 10 Pro runs on XOS 13, which is based on Android 13 and is slightly older. However, this phone will receive one year of OS updates, so the Infinix GT 10 Pro will also run on Android 14 this year. It will get two years of security updates, one year less than the GT 20 Pro. Therefore, if you’re looking for a smartphone that will last longer in terms of updates, the Infinix GT 20 Pro is the better choice.

Both phones are based on the same software, so the features and customisation options are quite similar. They both come with Infinix apps, but there are no bloatware apps like Snapchat and Facebook.

Both phones are equipped with a 5000mAh battery and support 45W fast charging. The Infinix GT 20 Pro reached 51% from dead in 30 minutes, while the GT 10 Pro reached 52% in the same timeframe, one per cent more than the latest phone. Both phones took exactly 1 hour and 3 minutes to charge fully, which is commendable.

The GT 20 Pro lasted 7 hours and 21 minutes during our PCMark battery test, which is average at best. Surprisingly, the GT 10 Pro lasted 8 hours and 5 minutes, slightly better than the GT 20 Pro numerically.

Regarding battery life, the Infinix GT 20 Pro dropped to 69% from full charge after running synthetic benchmarks. While synthetic benchmarks drain batteries significantly, the low drop in battery stats is noteworthy. In our testing, the GT 20 Pro managed 6-7 hours with moderate to heavy usage, which isn’t particularly impressive.

In contrast, the Infinix GT 10 Pro can easily last a day with light usage. With heavy usage, it can last for at least 8 hours straight. Therefore, in terms of battery life, the GT 10 Pro still outperforms the GT 20 Pro.

Verdict

The Infinix GT 20 Pro and the Infinix GT 10 Pro fall within the Rs 25,000 price segment and are powered by different chipsets. However, within this price range, there are contenders like the Poco X6, iQOO Z7 Pro, and more. Considering all these factors, if you’re seeking a gaming smartphone that delivers exceptional performance, outstanding display quality, and good cameras, then the Infinix GT 20 Pro is the right choice for you.

The GT 10 Pro offers commendable performance and battery life. Hence, if battery longevity is your primary concern in a smartphone, then the GT 10 Pro is the ideal option.
