Ahead of its debut, it has now been confirmed that the OnePlus TV will feature a total of eight inbuilt speakers that will produce a combined output of 50W. Furthermore, the TV will come with support for Dolby Atmos audio for a more immersive, cinematic sound experience. All of this is in addition to the support for Dolby Vision that was confirmed by the OnePlus just last week. The TV is said to be launching in India by the end of September.

The details regarding the audio specs of the OnePlus TV come from an update made over on its Amazon listing. The newly added teaser image confirms that a total of eight speakers will be housed within the chassis of the upcoming television. These speakers will collectively produce a 50W output. The teaser also says there will be ‘punchy bass’ to go along with it. We are skeptical about this claim as integrated TV speakers generally don’t have the physical space necessary to produce satisfactory low-end output.

The teaser also mentions the support for Dolby Atmos. This isn’t much of surprise considering the TV was already confirmed to offer Dolby Vision, and plenty of affordable smart TVs these days manage to offer Dolby Atmos support. OnePlus TV Expected Specifications

The upcoming smart TV from OnePlus will come with a 55-inch QLED display boasting a 4K resolution. That said, a previously spotted Bluetooth SIG listing states that 43-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch variants might also be under development. According to a separately leaked spec sheet, the television might sport a MediaTek MT5670 SoC that offers four Cortex-A53 CPU cores that are paired with a Mali-G51 MP3 GPU and 2.5GB of RAM. The TV will run on some variant Google’s Android TV platform that will be based on Android 9 Pie, and it will receive software updated for at least the next three years. There will also be an AI-powered voice assistant on this TV, but it is yet to be seen whether this will be the Google Assistant, Alexa, a new in-house solution, or a combination of these.

Reliable sources disclosed to us that the brand intends to launch the smart television on September 26. From what the brand has revealed so far, we know that the TV will make its debut in the Indian market before potentially releasing in other countries. The use of a QLED panel also means that the TV is positioned at a more premium segment of the market and that it will not be competing with the likes of Xiaomi but rather brands such as Samsung and Sony. The company has partnered with Amazon as its exclusive online retail partner for the OnePlus TV.
