The Chinese smartphone maker OPPO appears to be prepping up for the addition of a new device in the A-series soon. The reason for this is that the company’s upcoming A-series device dubbed as the OPPO A79 5G has received several certifications recently. The smartphone has cleared the NBTC, TUV Rheinland, IMDA, and FCC certifications ahead of the official launch. The device also has appeared on the Camera FV5 website, which details the camera specifications of the handset. The upcoming OPPO A79 5G will arrive as a successor to the OPPO A78 5G which was launched in January earlier this year.
OPPO A79 5G Will Support 33W Fast Charging
If we have a look at the NBTC certification, it confirms the moniker as OPPO A79 5G. Additionally, the certification reveals the model number of the smartphone as CPH2557. The same smartphone also has received the IMDA and TUV Rheinland certifications as mentioned above. The TUV Rheinland certification mentions that the device will pack a 4,880mAh battery which will support up to 33W fast charging. Furthermore, the FCC certification reveals that the OPPO A79 5G will measure 165.61×76.02×7.99mm in terms of dimensions, and it will weigh around 193 grams.
Additionally, the FCC listing reveals that the device will run ColorOS 13.1 out of the box. Furthermore, the listing also discloses that the A79 5G will have a 5G (n5/n7/n38/n41/n66), FM Radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, SBAS, FM Radio, and NFC support. If we have a look at the specifications revealed by the Camera FV5 website, we can see that the A79 5G will feature a 50MP camera, which will capture 12.5MP pixel-binned images. The primary camera will have a f/1.8 aperture.
For selfies and video-calling purposes, the device will rely on an 8MP camera which will have an f/2.0 aperture. Currently, the other specifications of the smartphone as such as its display size, RAM as well storage configurations, and SoC details remain unknown. As the days pass, we should get to learn more details about the device.
As mentioned above, the A79 5G will succeed the A78 5G. To recall, the OPPO A78 5G features a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with a HD+ resolution, Dimensity 700 SoC, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, a 50MP dual-camera setup, 8MP selfie camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging. The device is also launched in India and it is priced at Rs 18,999.
