The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has certified two upcoming OPPO smartphones bearing model numbers CPH1979 and CPH1983. While the marketing names of the two phones remain a mystery currently, the Bluetooth certification has shed light on some of their key specifications.

OPPO CPH1979 to Feature a MediaTek Helio P90 SoC

According to the CPH1979 Bluetooth certification, the smartphone will feature a 6.41-inch AMOLED display and run on a MediaTek MT6779V Helio P90 chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz. No smartphone powered by the chipset has gone on sale yet, so the CPH1979 may well be the first global smartphone to be powered by the mid-range chipset. In terms of optics, the smartphone uses a 48MP + 5MP dual cameras at the rear and a 32MP selfie camera on the front. The battery size is listed to be 4035mAh. In terms of software, the OPPO CPH1979 will be launched with the Android Pie-based ColorOS 6.0.

An upcoming Reno series smartphone was recently spotted on the TENAA website with a waterdrop screen and dual rear cameras. Going by the specifications listed by the Bluetooth Special Interest group on its website, it appears likely that the CPH1979 might be the global variant of the PCDM10/PCDT10 smartphone certified by TENAA.

OPPO CPH1983 Certified With 6.4-inch Full HD+ Display and 25MP Selfie Camera

In addition to the CPH1979, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group has also certified the OPPO CPH1983. The smartphone’s Bluetooth certification reveals it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor. It is also listed to feature a 6.4-inch display featuring Full HD+ resolution. For optics, OPPO CPH1983 will feature a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the back and a 25MP selfie camera on the front. Connectivity features listed on the Bluetooth Launch Studio website include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE. Just like the upcoming CPH1979, the OPPO CPH1983 will also debut with the manufacturer’s ColorOS 6.0 custom user-interface out of the box.
