OPPO Reno 9 Pro+ 5G Specifications Revealed Ahead of Official Launch

OPPO is rumoured to launch the Reno 9 series soon in China. The company is expected to launch three new phones later this year. These include the Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro and Reno 9 Pro+ 5G. The devices are expected to launch in India in January 2023. OPPO has not confirmed any details about the launch. Meanwhile, specifications of the Reno 9 series have started to surface online. A new leak has now revealed the alleged specifications of the top-end OPPO Reno 9 Pro+ 5G.

The upcoming OPPO smartphone will launch as a successor to the Reno 8 Pro+ 5G in China. OPPO might launch the phone as the Reno 9 Pro 5G in India. While we wait for more details on that front, there’s a quick look at the OPPO Reno 9 Pro+ 5G specifications and features leaked so far.

OPPO Reno 9 Pro+ 5G: What’s on the Inside?

The OPPO Reno 9 Pro+ 5G is expected to launch in November. Ahead of the launch, the OPPO phone’s specifications have leaked online. Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed (via) that the Reno 9 Pro+ 5G will feature the current flagship Qualcomm SoC, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

The OPPO smartphone will sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels. It will feature a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera. The screen is also said to be slightly curved on the sides. As expected, the Reno 9 Pro+ 5G will feature 120Hz refresh rate support and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Reno 9 Pro+ 5G is also said to pack a 4700mAh battery under the hood. It could feature 80W fast charging support as well. DCS also revealed that the phone will feature a metal frame. The tipster did not reveal whether the rear panel will be made of glass or plastic. Considering the phone is a premium offering, it is expected to sport a glass body.

The tipster further listed the camera specifications of the phone. It will feature a new camera sensor on the back. OPPO could launch the phone with a new 50MP Sony IMX890 camera sensor. There will also be the company’s Mari Silicon NPU. It could sport a triple-camera setup on the back but DCS has not revealed any details about the other two camera sensors at the time of writing this. There will be a 32MP front camera sensor for selfies and video calls.

Other details of the Reno 9 Pro+ 5G are unknown at the moment. Once launched, it is likely to compete against the iQOO 11, the upcoming OnePlus 11 and other budget flagship smartphones launching at the end of 2022 and early 2023.
