The Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has announced that it will host its annual VDC (Vivo Developer Conference) on November 1. The Vivo Developer Conference event will take place at the Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China. At this event, the company will introduce Android 14-based OriginOS 4 for Vivo and iQOO smartphones. Vivo also has confirmed that it will unveil the self-developed AI large model for mobile devices and a new in-house operating system for IoT devices during the November 1st event. Though Vivo has not shared any details about OriginOS 4.0, one can expect it to offer new user interface enhancement, improved performance, and a host of new features.

At the event, Vivo also might announce the release schedule of the OriginOS 4 for Vivo and iQOO smartphones. The company is also tipped to unveil the iQOO 12 and the Vivo X100 series devices. We can expect these upcoming smartphones to come pre-installed with Android 14-based OriginOS 4.0.

In a piece of related news, Vivo recently unveiled its Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14. The company’s Funtouch OS user interface is being used on global Vivo and iQOO smartphone models. To recall, the newly launched Funtouch OS 14 includes Smooth Envision, which is an approach that enhances system performance and responsiveness by reducing the number of persistent processes and optimizing RAM usage. The Funtouch OS 14 also consists of a new app Retainer feature which ensures that whitelisted apps are not closed manually and they are available for use.

Furthermore, the company’s latest user interface based on Android 14 also includes a small window feature that allows users to keep up to 12 small windows active in the background. The OS also introduces a range of personalization features, a new monochrome theme, called MY colour palette, and a new video editing tool which allows users to create unique and captivating content. Lastly, the Funtouch OS 14 also includes a Smart Mirroring feature which allows users to seamlessly share their screen without revealing any information in the notification bar.

As per the information shared by the company, the Funtouch OS 14 will be released in mid-October to devices such as Vivo X90, X90 Pro, and iQOO 11, while the update will arrive for more smartphones like Vivo X80 Pro, iQOO 9 Pro, 9T in November.
