Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi recently unveiled its Redmi K30 Pro smartphone in China. The Redmi K30 Pro is a 5G device, which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. It features a 64MP quadruple rear camera setup and comes with a 60Hz AMOLED panel. Right after the launch of the device, we received a report suggesting that the Redmi K30 Pro could be launched in India under the POCO branding. As a matter of fact, the theory behind this was pretty convincing. This, however, does not appear to be the case and the POCO F2, at the very least, will not be a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro smartphone. This, now, is not an assumption or a leak. The company’s officials broke this news earlier today, alongside a bunch of crucial intel on the future of POCO products. Take a look at what we know about the upcoming POCO portfolio so far.

POCO F2: What the Future Holds (and a Surprise)

POCO India organized its first-ever fan meet (virtual) earlier today, where the POCO team made itself available to answer the fans’ queries. During the meet, C Manmohan, POCO India General Manager, debunked the rumors surrounding the Redmi K30 Pro smartphone coming to India as the POCO F2. That being said, Manmohan did not explicitly say that the Redmi K30 Pro would not be a rebranded POCO device entirely, so we can still speculate that it could be a possibility, save for the fact that it won’t be the POCO F2 at the very least. He further debunked the possibility of a POCO X2 Pro moniker.

Later on, when the meetup was about to be over, Manmohan revealed that POCO would indeed launch a pair of truly wireless earbuds in India. While he clearly said that the POCO TWS are in the works as of now and there is no word as to when they will see the commercial shelves, we can expect it to happen soon now.

In case you are unaware, Manmohan ran a poll on Twitter the other day, in which he gave the fans an option to choose from four different products that could potentially be launched under the POCO branding. The POCO TWS won the poll, fair and square, as 38 percent of the total votes were cast for the same. Below is the tweet for your reference:

Lastly, Manmohan addressed the pricing of the POCO F2 and said that people who are keeping a budget of somewhere around Rs 20,000 should not wait for the POCO F2 and should rather opt for the POCO X2 smartphone (or any other available smartphone for that matter).

As of now, this is pretty much all the intel that we could obtain from today’s ZOOM chat session with the POCO team, but we are sure to receive more intel on the same in the coming days. Whenever we do, we will make sure to inform you about the same.
