Qualcomm is gearing up to unveil its latest flagship chipset, which is most likely called the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The company has confirmed that it will launch the new chipset on March 18 via the Chinese social media platform Weibo. Here’s what to expect.

New Snapdragon Chipset Incoming

There are no confirmed details about this upcoming chipset. However, it is expected to be another variant of the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and even surpass it in terms of numbers.

We are not sure about the moniker (it could be something else too) but it sure appears confusing! If the English translation is accurate, then we can bet that AI will take centre stage at the forthcoming Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

Snapdragon 8s Gen 3: Expected Specs

While the majority of the details around the forthcoming chipset are still under wraps, a recent leak from the popular leaker Digital Chat Station indicates that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 might pack a Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 3.01GHz, four Cortex-A720 performance cores clocked at 2.61GHz, and three Cortex-A520 efficiency cores clocked at 1.84GHz.

There’s also a possibility that it could arrive with an Adreno 735 GPU. We expect several performance enhancements too.

Qualcomm’s Another Flagship Chipset

Moreover, the chipmaker is also developing the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. It is expected to make its public appearance in October at the Snapdragon Summit 2024. Don McGuire, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Qualcomm, unveiled this information during the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024.
