Realme is one of the most exciting brands in India’s smartphone market today, thanks to its stellar devices that have dominated the budget and mid-range segments. And the good thing about Realme is that the successors to its devices come with notable upgrades and not just tiny changes to justify a price bump. For example, if you compare the Realme 6 (which was launched quite recently) and the Realme 5, there are significant differences between the two models. But we’re talking about the Realme 6i, which has just made its global debut. The phone, which succeeds the Realme 5i, gets a couple of critical changes — not only has the camera been juiced up, but you get an all-new chipset, plus the battery specs just got a major boost as well! Read on to know all about the brand new Realme 6i.

Realme 6i: Price in India

The Realme 6i may have made its global debut in Myanmar, but the India debut will happen pretty soon. The Realme 6i was launched in two memory variants – one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which is priced at KS 299,900 (approximately Rs 13,000) and the other with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (approx Rs 15,713). One assumes that the pricing in India won’t be radically different from the prices listed here.

Realme 6i: Specifications and Features

The Realme 6i intends to replace the Realme 5i, which was quite a popular device in its pricing segment. The phone comes with a display that measures 6.52 inches across and has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The phone features a water drop notch at the top to house the front-facing selfie camera. The display is an IPS LCD panel and offers a pixel density of 269 ppi.

It seems that Realme has decided to go with MediaTek chipsets in place of Qualcomm chipsets in this price range because this is the second phone from Realme to replace its Snapdragon processor with a Helio SoC, after the Realme 6. The Realme 6i comes with an octa-core Helio G80 chipset that features a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU onboard to manage the graphics load. The phone comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants and you get options of 32GB and 64GB onboard space, plus you get a microSDXC slot for expandable memory. The phone will run Android 10 out of the box and will be available in White Milk and Green Tea color variants.

You’re covered on the camera front as you now get a 48MP primary sensor as part of the quad-cam setup on the back. You also get an 8MP ultrawide snapper, as well as a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, the 8MP on the Realme 5i has been upgraded to a 16MP selfie snapper, which is again excellent news.

While there are many phones offering large batteries in this price range, it can be annoying to wait with your phone connected while the battery charges, which is why premium phones come with support for fast charging. Thankfully, Realme has decided to pass this on to its budget range users as well. The Realme 6i not only comes with a huge 5000mAh cell, but it also supports 18W fast charging. You also get a USB Type C port, which is an additional plus for this phone.
