Realme launched the Realme 7i along with several other AIoT products last week at an event in India. Realme 7i is a budget-centric smartphone that competes against the likes of Redmi Note 9, POCO M2, and others. Realme 7i is priced at INR 11,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant while the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs INR 12,999. Redmi Note 9 comes in three different variants, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 11,999, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at INR 13,999, and the top variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs 14,999. POCO M2 price starts from INR 10,999 for 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while the higher memory variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage retails for INR 12,499.

All three devices feature a modern bezel-less display. Realme 7i and Redmi Note 9 feature a more trendy display with a punch-hole notch compared to a water-drop notch on the POCO M2. These devices feature a polycarbonate back with interesting design patterns. Realme 7i is available in Fusion Blue and Fusion Green color variants, while the Redmi Note 9 retails in Aqua Green, Arctic White, Pebble Grey, and Scarlet Red colors. POCO M2 comes with a dual-tone design and retails in Pitch Black, Slate Blue, and Brick Red color variants.

Redmi Note 9 has a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with 2340×1080 resolution, 450nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. POCO M2 features a 6.53-inch FHD+ LCD panel with 2340×1080 resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Realme 7i and Redmi Note 9 feature a display with punch-hole-notch while the POCO M2 has a water-drop notch.

Realme 7i packs an octa-core Snapdragon 662 processor built on an 11nm process which gets coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. The Redmi Note 9 sports a gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G85 built on a 12nm process. While the POCO M2 sports an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 built on the 8nm process. The graphics duties on the POCO M2 are handled by Mali-G52 GPU which is clocked at 950MHz. All three devices pack LPDDR4x RAM along with up to 128GB UFS storage along with a dedicated micro-SD card slot.

Realme 6i has a quad rear camera setup including a 64MP primary sensor. The 64MP sensor on the Realme 7i gets accompanied by an 8MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 119° field of view. While the other two sensors are 2MP B&W lens and macro lens. Redmi Note 9 packs a 48MP quad-rear camera set up inside a squircle camera island. The primary sensor on Note 9 gets accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and 118° field of view. The other two sensors on the Note 9 are 2MP macro, and depth sensor.

POCO M2 packs a quad-rear camera setup with a 13MP primary lens that has f/2.2 aperture. There is also an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 118.2° field of view and f/2.2 aperture that gets coupled with a 5MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP portrait camera with f/2.4 aperture. For the selfies, Realme 7i offers a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with f/2.1 aperture, while the Redmi Note 9 and POCO M2 have a 13MP and an 8MP shooter respectively.

Realme 7i, Redmi Note 9, and POCO M2, all three devices have a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. These devices have a USB Type-C port for charging. Realme 7i and Redmi Note 9 come with an 18W charger while POCO M2 comes with a 10W in-box charger.

Realme 7i has an advantage over the other two smartphones as it features a 90Hz refresh rate display, but the display comes with HD+ resolution compared to FHD+ resolution on POCO M2, and Redmi Note 9.
