The teaser shared by the global X account of Realme confirms that the upcoming device will be equipped with a periscope lens. The teaser carries the caption “Not only max can zoom”, which takes a dig at the iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphone. Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max is the first smartphone from Apple to feature a periscope lens.
Realme shared the teaser with the text “The light will shine on realme, just wait, ” indicating the device’s imminent launch. The company might debut the smartphone soon after the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC launch at the Qualcomm Tech Summit event. Digital Chat Station added that there would be another smartphone from Realme to equip a periscope lens apart from the Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone.
The tipster hints that an upcoming mid-range device from Realme will feature a periscope lens. The tipster didn’t share any other information regarding the mid-range device. The forthcoming GT 5 Pro smartphone is tipped to share specifications with the upcoming OnePlus 12 5G smartphone. Realme will equip the device with a curved OLED panel with a 2K resolution. The display will have a refresh rate of 144Hz and PWM DC dimming. The Chinese variant of the device is expected to debut in 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB internal storage variants. Realme is tipped to equip the device with the largest vapour chamber surface area.
The upcoming GT 5 Pro smartphone will feature a triple rear camera setup. The setup will comprise a primary Sony IMX 9xx series sensor, a 64MP OV64B periscope sensor with 3X optical zoom and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Realme is expected to equip the smartphone with a 5400mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging support and 50W wireless charging tech.
Realme will ship the smartphone with an X-axis motor for improved haptics. The device will also be equipped with IP68 water and dust resistance. The smartphone will run on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 out of the box. Realme is tipped to launch the smartphone with a metal frame. Other specifications of the device are currently unknown.
