Realme has finally revealed the launch date for the Realme GT Neo 5 for the Chinese market. The brand took it to the Chinese micro-blogging site – Weibo to reveal that the Realme GT Neo 5 will launch on February 9 in China. The Realme GT Neo 5 will mark the commercial debut of 240W fast charging on a smartphone. To those unaware, 240W is the highest charging speed that can be achieved with a Type-C port.
Realme, similar to GT Neo 3, will launch two smartphones under the Neo 5 series. The only differences between these models will be the battery capacity and charging speeds. Let us take a look at what we know about the Realme GT Neo 5 series smartphones.
Realme GT Neo 5: Specifications
The Realme GT Neo 5 will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 2772 × 1240 pixel resolution as per the TENAA listing. The display panel is expected to feature support for 144Hz refresh rate and might house an in-display scanner beneath.
The upcoming Realme GT series smartphone was recently spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database which revealed the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and 16GB of RAM under the hood. The upcoming smartphone will make use of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The handset will come pre-loaded with Android 13 out of the box, but as usual, we expect to see Realme UI 4.0 on top.
As mentioned above, the Realme GT Neo 5 might come in two configurations, one will feature a 5000mAh (4850mAh) battery with 150W fast charging support. Whereas, the other variant will pack a 4500mAh (4450mAh) battery and will feature support for a whopping 240W fast charging.
The Realme GT Neo 5 will be equipped with a triple-rear camera setup that will include a 50MP primary shooter. The primary sensor on the device might be a Sony IMX890 sensor with optical image stablization (OIS). It will be accompanied by an 8MP shooter and a 2MP lens. For selfies and video calls, it will include a 16MP front shooter inside a punch-hole notch.
The Realme GT Neo 5 will measure 163.85 × 75.75 × 8.9mm and will weigh 199 grams. The handset is also said to pack RGB lights and an IR blaster. Realme is yet to spill the beans about the Realme GT Neo 5 India launch.
