Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Note 12 series in China. The company launched four Note 12 series phones. These include the Redmi Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G, Note 12 Pro+ 5G and the Note 12 Explorer Edition. The Redmi Note 12 series India variants will be different from the ones launched in China. However, Xiaomi is working on bringing one of the Chinese Redmi Note 12 phones to India with a different name. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G might launch in India in the coming weeks as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge.

Xiaomi’s HyperCharge series focuses on providing a super fast charging experience. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge came with 120W fast charging. If the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G comes to India as is but with a different name, it is likely to support 120W fast charging out of the box. The piece of information about the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G coming to India as the 12i HyperCharge was shared by MIUI tester Kacper Skrzypek, who found the mention of the devices in the MIUI code.

There is no word on whether the Note 12 Pro 5G will launch in India as the vanilla Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge. However, considering the 11i series included two devices, we can expect the same for the 12i series.

Xiaomi has not confirmed any details about the launch of the 12i series in India. The company could launch its new HyperCharge series phones in India in early 2023. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge, aka the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G’s specifications and features.

Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge Specifications

The Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge is likely to feature the same set of specs found in the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G from China. It will sport a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The display has a peak brightness of 900 nits and a hole-punch cutout at the top centre.

The phone draws power from a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. It will also pack a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging. On the back, there will be a triple-camera setup. The device could feature the new 200MP Samsung HPX main camera sensor along with an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, the phones feature a 16MP front camera.

The device runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. It is likely to launch in India with 8GB/ 12GB RAM options along with 256GB of internal storage as standard. In China, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is priced at CNY 2199(roughly Rs 25,100) for the base model. The 12GB RAM option is priced at CNY 2399(roughly Rs 27,400).
