Redmi Note 12 series has been officially launched in India. Xiaomi has launched three smartphones in the new Redmi Note series lineup in India. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus sits at the top of the lineup, below which are the standard Note 12 Pro and the Note 12. All three Redmi Note series phones launched today support 5G networks in India. They also feature support for a 120Hz refresh rate and a triple-camera setup on the back. Of course, the camera setup is different across the board.

The Note 12 Pro Plus comes with a Samsung HPX 200MP main camera sensor. The Note 12 Pro, on the other hand, has a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera, which we have previously seen in many flagship phones. Let’s take a look at the Redmi Note 12 series price in India, specifications and other details.

Redmi Note 12 Series Price in India

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G sits at the top of the lineup. Xiaomi has launched the phone with two storage options in India. The base model has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is priced at Rs 29,999. There is also a 12GB + 256GB option, which is priced at Rs 32,999 with a Rs 3,000 ICICI bank offer and addition Rs 3,000 discount for Xiaomi users on exchange. It has been launched in Arctic White, Iceberg Blue and Obsidian Black colours. The device goes on sale from January 11, 12 noon via Flipkart.

The Note 12 Pro 5G arrives in 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB storage configurations. These are priced at 21,999, 23,999 and 24,999, respectively, with a Rs 3,000 ICICI bank offer and addition Rs 1,000 discount for Xiaomi users on exchange and will go on sale starting January 11, 12 noon on Flipkart.

The Note 12 5G, which currently is the baseline Note, has been launched with 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB storage options. The two storage options are priced at Rs 16,499 and Rs 18,499 with a Rs 1,500 ICICI bank offer and addition Rs 1,000 discount for Xiaomi users on exchange. It comes in Mystique Black, Matte Black and Frosted Green colour options. The device goes on sale from January 11, 12 noon on Amazon.

Redmi Note 12 Series: Specifications and Features

Display

The Note 12 Pro Plus and Note 12 Pro 5G come with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen is flat and has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The display also supports an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and comes with a DCI-P3 colour gamut. There is support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, WideVine L1, etc. The display also has a peak brightness of 900 nits.

The Redmi Note 12 5G also comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. It has a Full HD+ resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has a peak brightness of 1200 nits and supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

All three phones come with an IP53 rating for basic water and dust protection.

Performance

The Note 12 Pro+ and the Note 12 Pro 5G feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. They come with up 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The devices support up to 10 5G bands in India, including the popular n28a, n40, n41, n77 and n78. There is also a vapour chamber cooling system under the hood.

The Note 12 5G has a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. It has up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Camera

The Note 12 Pro Plus 5G has a 200MP Samsung HPX main camera sensor with an f/1.65 aperture. The 1/1.4-inch sensor supports optical image stabilisation (OIS) and produces 12.5MP pixel-binned images. It also has an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor.

The Note 12 Pro has a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera with support for OIS. The device also features an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor.

Both Pro smartphones come with a 16MP front camera.

The Note 12 5G has a 48MP main camera sensor on the back. The entry-level 5G Note smartphone also comes with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, there is a 13MP front camera inside the hole-punch cutout.

Battery and Fast Charging

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus has a 4980mAh battery under the hood. It supports 120W fast charging. Xiaomi has bundled the 120W adapter in the box and claims that it can charge the phone from zero to 100 per cent in 19 minutes. The device comes with added protective layers right from the charger to the circuitry inside the phone for a safer, more efficient charging experience.

The Note 12 Pro 5G packs a 5000mAh battery under the hood. There is a 67W fast charging adapter that is bundled in the box.

The Note 12 5G has a 5000mAh battery. It supports 33W fast charging and the adapter for the same is bundled with the phone in the retail unit. As expected, all three phones feature a USB Type-C port for fast charging.

Software

All three Redmi Note series phones come with MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. Xiaomi has promised to provide two major Android updates ad support for four years of security patches for all three phones.
